OVAL Sky invites Tom Barman
Art photography in dialogue with the horizon
From Friday 6 June, creative jack-of-all-trades Tom Barman will exhibit photographic work at OVAL Sky, on the top floors of the iconic building on Antwerp's Mechelsesteenweg 64.
Tom Barman is best known to the general public as frontman of rock group dEUS and singer of jazz-rock project TaxiWars. But it should be clear: Barman is a man of many guises and at least as many talents. In addition to being a musician, for instance, he is also a filmmaker and photographer, with a style all his own and an unerring sense of colour.

The photo exhibition 'OVAL Sky invites Tom Barman' opens on Friday 6 June, on the upper floors of the iconic building on Mechelsesteenweg 64 in Antwerp. The former headquarters of the Antwerp Water Works is not usually freely accessible, but this expo changes that. "When I was invited by OVAL, I was immediately excited," says Barman. "I have known this building pretty much all my life, it is an architectural icon and evokes a kind of nostalgia in me. Being able to exhibit my work here, with the Antwerp skyline as a canvas, is surreal."
The exhibition includes not only Barman's photographic works, which will be for sale in limited editions, but also a space curated by him on the top floor.
OVAL Sky is more than just the home of Brand Experience agency OVAL; it is a dynamic meeting place. Inspiring meeting rooms with views over the city, an auditorium for presentations and lectures, a beautiful roof garden as an ideal backdrop. And today a temporary art gallery: OVAL Sky has it all. "For us, this place is an invitation to connect," explains Wouter Boits, founder and CEO of OVAL. "Experience is in our DNA, and this place needs to be experienced. We are therefore very happy that Tom accepted our invitation and we get to show his fantastic photos to the general public."

- Open on Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 2pm to 6pm.
- In July and August, open on Thursdays and Fridays and Saturdays 12 & 26 July and 9 & 23 August.
