OVAL joins forces with the Centre for Cybersecurity to combat online investment fraud
New awareness campaign responds to repeated temptations and growing 'fomo'

The Centre for Cybersecurity knocked on the door of creative agency OVAL (formerly 'The Oval Office') with a clear brief: to design and develop an awareness campaign aimed at warning online investors about potential fraud.
Because the figures are alarming: in the first half of 2025, Belgians lost almost 15 million euros to fake investment platforms, a frightening increase that is three times higher than in the same period last year.
Criminal fraudsters lure people in with tempting but false promises: quick, guaranteed profits and seemingly simple investment opportunities via enticing online platforms.
Victims face devastating consequences, including complete financial exhaustion, extreme emotional distress and ruined future plans.
Don't be a bill
The campaign tells the story of the lovable Bill, a well-filled wallet who wants to invest his savings "wisely".
It capitalises on the repeated temptations on the internet, the "fomo" that gets bigger and bigger, and then the fatal moment when Bill gives in anyway because the online investment offer is pretty convincing. The beginning of a tragedy...
The campaign runs from 3 October and will be seen on TV, in cinemas, in daily newspapers, online and on social media.
